Description
This rare wrapper is one in a series of 60 issued
in
Canada
by the CANADIAN CHEWING GUM CO. LIMITED Of Toronto
Canada
on the back side of their Green Jacket Brand of Chewing gum. They are list
ed
as V251 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue. According to the Non Sports Bible these were issued in 1933 Each wrapper features a portrait of the National Flag of the featured country , as well as a premium offer of a complete set of these Flags on Cards for exchange of 15 of these wrappers (written in both French and English). The images us
ed
are the same as the ones us
ed
by the American Tobacco Company on there T59 Flags of All Nations Issue,
This card features and image of a Flag of WALES
. The wrapper measures 4 ½ inches by 2 ¼ inches approximately. The wrapper does have some creasing, and an edge tear and spots of paper loss from when it was originally opened and unfolded (these are common and for the most part unavoidable) I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself .
THIS WRAPPER WAS NEVER ISSUED IN THE U.S. and IS extremely scarce. Due to the lower population in Canada than in the US, print runs in Canada were much smaller compar
ed
with American issues. (Because of this the majority of all Canadian non sports cards and wrappers are far scarcer than USA & UK. issues)
).
I will be trying to list several EARLY TRADE & TYPE CARDS over the next few days
(spread across different categories), including one or two that are unrecorded in any guide, that were put given away with Tobacco, Caramel, Candy, Gum, Chocolate, Bread Coffee Tea Cereal and other products, covering such diverse subjects as Native American Indians , Baseball , Football, Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey, Golf, Presidents of the United States, NCAA and IVY League Colleges and Universities and Circus themes. To view the other cards I have up on ebay please click on the “View Sellers other Items” Icon located on this page. It will take you directly to them.
I am actually located in Canada just across the border.
I have a U.S.A. mailing address, and I mail my items from the USA to avoid border delays.
Due to my work schedule and distance to the post office I am only able to ship Monday Mornings
. If I haven’t received payment for an item the EVENING BEFORE Monday the item will have to wait until the next Monday to go out. Its unfortunate but unavoidable. If this doesn’t work for you I respectfully ask that you do not bid or buy. Thanks again.
For Canadian Buyers Please note that HST is included in the shipping cost.
