A nice extremely fine or better ten English Shillings banknote. The banknote which is signed by P. S. Beale is not dated but was issued in the period 1949 through 1955. The note is brown-violet and brown on gray and pink underprint. It shows an image of a Seated Britannia to the left on the front. Britannia is seated with a spear in one hand and a branch in the other. The back has the same color scheme as the front with a large foliate design. The banknote has a watermark showing the head of woman (Minerva) wearing a large hat in the bottom center. The note is signed by P. S. Beale the Chief Cashier the Bank of England at the time and has the prefix Z34Z. This particular note has the serial number 709189 and has a security thread left of center. The note is relatively clean and retains some of its original stiffness and crispiness. It has some staining or soiling along the central vertical fold on the back but is intact with no tears or splits. A nice example of this scarce note to add to your collection.
