1950s true vintage Alfred Shaheen cabana set VLV Tiki Oasis.
Up for grabs is this awesome 1950s men's cabana set by Alfred Shaheen. The all cotton set in white, light blue, and dark blue includes swim trunk/shorts and aloha shirt.
Measurements are flat across the front (double to get the total):
Shirt-
Shoulder to shoulder 19 inches
Pit to pit 23 inches
Shoulder to bottom 28 inches
Trunks-
Waist 36 inches max, you can go smaller as it has internal tie
Condition:
Very wearable! The cotton is still bright and strong. Has some overall fade due to age and use. The set was stained when found but after soaking in Retro Clean, most came out. Only one light mark remains that I can see and that is shown in pic 5 on the bottom front left side under the buttons. I hardly noticed it and would wear as is. The shorts have a small hole in the bum that is also hardly noticeable and doesn’t look to get any bigger. It is shown in pic 6. Pic 7 is Alfred Shaheen himself wearing this very print in a different colorway!
This is THE set to wear to TIKI OASIS at the cabana strut! Or to VLV! Or on your next tropical holiday!
