Description

This is an excellent condition,
1966 Jose Dominguez
Flamenco Guitar.
This flamenco guitar was made by Jose Dominguez at Carreteria 68, Malaga, Spain.
This hand crafted guitar was built using solid cypress for the back and sides, a Cedar neck and a solid spruce top. The binding and headstock cap are made using rosewood. The guitar has Dominguez signature rosette in very good condition.
The overall condition of the guitar is very good. The guitar has been superbly restored using instrument grade lacquers. There were no large cracks in the back or sides of the guitar. There was one hairline in the top in the lower bout below the fretboard and a couple of minuscule hairlines at the outer edges of the large bouts on the back, which are common for a guitar of this age. They were repaired to be strong and stable. There were a couple of small holes from strap buttons, one in the back of the headstock and one at the base of the guitar. Both of these have been filled to match as well as possible and made smooth.
Scale length on this guitar is 658 millimeters. This scale length gives the instrument good reach and playability for a flamenco guitar. Nut width is 52 millimeters.
The ebony fretboard is in good condition with a couple of small dings. The guitar has just been refretted with medium high frets that have been smoothed at the ends and polished for comfortable playing.
Action on the 12th fret low E string is 3.5 millimeters and the 12th fret high E string measures 3.0 millimeters.
The guitar also features a recently installed new set of tuning keys that are smooth and hold tune well.
The original label shows that this is a Jose Dominguez.
This guitar will be carefully packed and shipped in a good condition hard shell case.
