3 1/2" UN-COMMON FORMAT 1876 Centennial Expo World Fair GLASS LANTERN SLIDE

3 1/2" UN-COMMON FORMAT 1876 Centennial Expo World Fair GLASS LANTERN SLIDE
This is a very interesting glass slide of the 1876 World Fair's main building. The glass slide with the image on it is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". There is a cover glass over that image side but that piece of glass is 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". Finding glass slides of the 1876 fair is tough but to run into 3 1/2" ones , well they pretty much are never seen. This came from a large framed exhibit of these where there were like 20 of them . The frame had been taken apart and the slides removed long time ago. They were made by the Centennial Photo Co. and personally think that Wilson made these before anything else as they were mainly from before it opened or with some construction shown still going on. The image side does have some marks from being a single plate when it was originally framed but at least now has cover glass over it to protect it. The black line that is seen above the building is a line made along with the image and is not like where the glass slide is cut. In the last photo you will see it is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" for that image side. I've dealt in unusual glass slide formats for a long time and finding bigger ones like this is seldom ever. Being like 145 years old almost just makes it that much more special. Shipping to Canada is by express mail which can take up to 60 days because of customs & covid slowing things down.
