3 WD Recently Working 4TB External HDs.
All of these Western Digital portable hard drives were working until my failed recovery attempts rendered them otherwise. The first Elements drive contained my music and video libraries so I was eager to attempt a recovery when it was bumped. The second Elements drive was purchased for this and clearly missing vital information I damaged the heads. Undaunted I watched more videos and tried a third time.
While I believe I followed the appropriate steps perfectly, it was not perfect enough: the platters must be kept synchronized and I failed to do so. Therefore the third drive, an Easystore, is physically perfect, except it will not initialize due to the platter sync issue. The others are undamaged save for the heads, which I have included in case people with more skills than I possess could repair them. The platters were all protected between sheets of lint free fiber “paper” when not in an enclosure, and work was done in an expedient dust “freeish” environment.
All drives are 4TB but one Elements is a 4 platter version in contrast to the 5 platters in the other two. All circuit boards are functioning and are recognized when attached to a PC, and all motors operate as well. Please see photos for more specifics. All sold AS IS and as parts.
