    This filter serves two purposes, it protects the expensive front lens element from scratches or damage. Second , it absorbs ultraviolet rays allowing clearer and more distinct results with film digital or video. It does not affect the color balance of the picture. Filter is front threaded to accept Caps and other attachments. Carrying plastic case it included.
