    Description

    Does it get better than this? Not much. This magnificent pipe was made in 2002 and only 12 exist, each individually numbered and retailed for 00. With inflation, that's about K today. Not only is it a Collection grade but it's also stamped Fiammata. It's incredibly difficult for a pipe maker to find a block large enough to produce this kind of grain while also being darn near flawless, let alone 12! Since the length isn't overly long, I'll say this pipe is a "pocket magnum" and certainly oversized and does not fit into Castello's size charts whatsoever. At 122g in weight, you can get a good idea of it's size and in picture #11 I have shown it next to a Comoy's Bulldog (not included) for comparison! Despite it's massive profile it actually fits really comfortably in hand. The XXL bowl sports classic double beads and the walls are so thick I doubt any heat will be felt at all while smoking this remarkable pipe. The chamber is actually modest for it's size which appeals to me yet still will smoke for I'm guessing 2 hours+. As the bowl tapers it transitions to a muscular diamond shank that tapers to meet the crisp black lucite stem with straight bit, signature white bar logo, and dark briar inlaid extension adding a very nice touch. The finish, oh, the finish!!! A gorgeous golden contrast was applied here to showcase why this pipe earned the Fiammata stamp. 360 degree straight and flame grain wrap around the lower half of the bowl while the upper displays flame and birdseye all with incredible depth/layers that is visually spectacular. Awaiting it's first smoke, but I'm not sure I could personally bring myself to do it! Comes with original large Castello felt sock, this one is ready to be the crown jewel of any collection.
