CHARATAN UNSMOKED LANE ERA "AUTHENTIC" CONTRAST BRANDY SHAPE 334DC ESTATE PIPE

Description

While I've had a ton of Charatan's over the years, for whatever reason I haven't seen many Authentics. Upon research, it is widely rumored they are Dunhill made Charatan's from when Dunhill took over, however others say this is not correct and the Authentic was Charatan made but not released until after the merger. Whatever the case, there's simply not a ton of them out there relatively speaking in terms of other Charatan grades. This one surprisingly remains unsmoked and comes in a classic 334DC shape which is a lovely straight Brandy. It offers a robust bowl with extra thick walls and a generous chamber for its size. It has excellent hand feel due to the wide base and transitions to a sturdy round shank that leans away from the bowl a touch and meets the original vulcanite Double Comfort stem with crisp CP logo and also shows more of the downward bend away from the bowl which just about makes this pipe bent! The finish on the Authentic is quite beautiful, a rich Chestnut golden contrast while the briar is almost flawless showing swirling birdseye on the flanks with fine cross grain to the front and rear offset. If you're looking for an unsmoked Charatan that promises an exceptional smoke, look no further!
