Description
SPECIAL NOTE: After my initial listing of this pipe a while back, at a higher price, I just could not resist smoking it a few days. It thereby went from an unsmoked, mint condition, to an “ estate used pipe”—- all to the financial advantage of a buyer—- its like new!!E NORDING HANDMADE pipes routinely bring hundreds of dollars, particularly in graded numbers. THIS IS VERY EARLY MADE NORDING, PRICED WAY WAY LESS THAN ITS ACTUAL, UNSMOKED OR SLIGHTLY SMOKED COLLECTIBLE POTENTIAL.
This E NORDING EARLY PIPE IS A GRADE 14. Condition is "LIKE NEW, only SMOKED 3 or 4 TIMES!
IT possesses some gorgeous grain and very lightweight(46 gm). Shape is a six paneled straight.
THE Birdseye briar on rim and bottom of bowl and shank is nothing short of remarkable. Vulcanize Stem has obviously oxidized a very little, as expected, but can be routinely polished out to a high shine.
It is difficult to adequately describe the special creative work done by Nording on the shank, so please carefully enlarge and study each photo to truly get a visual insight into the master workmanship. If I have left anything out, or not adequately described, please allow the very crisp and clear pictures to speak for themselves.
I will subsequently, through edit, place the digital caliper measurements in inches and precise weight in ounces and grams, but for now, I will simply afford the approximate numbers I get pipe initially listed—- check back for the EXACT numbers.
SPECIAL NOTE: E. Nording designed this vintage pipe capable of using a 9mm filter, or not. Most pipers I know, including myself, do not use a filter even if tenon diameter is so designed; moreover, I’ve personally come to believe a filter doesn't affect the smoke quality to much of a discernible degree. If a filter does, one way or the other, I personally haven't experienced it.
