JULIUS VESZ UNSMOKED 2007 RAINDROP 8 CUMBERLAND W/STERLING SILVER ESTATE PIPE

Description

Julius Vesz is legendary in pipe making and has been hand crafting exceptional briars for over 60 years. Getting his start at the age of 23 he performed repairs for the likes of Dunhill and United Cigar. He is one of the only pipe makers, if not the only, who has aged briar that is well over a century old. This makes for some of the finest pipes money can buy and his pieces sought after worldwide. This is an absolutely classic shape from Vesz, the "Raindrop" and was made in 2007 and has not seen flame. It is graded an 8 which is the second highest grade on his scale which runs from 1-9 in ascending order. It's a lovely shape, a quintessential clencher and offers a stout almost egg shaped bowl with a crisp rim leading to a generous chamber for its size. The transition is graceful and full bent while adorned with a Sterling Silver mount that holds the beautiful hand-cut German Cumberland stem with perfect bend, fishtail bit and inlaid logo while showing stunning "grain". The finish is a rich ruby red Bruyere like that of an early Dunhill while the briar is finely rusticated and displays incredible attention to detail which is not only visually spectacular but the texture is amazing in hand. Awaiting its first smoke and comes complete with original thick leather logo glove, it doesn't get much better than this from the great Julius Vesz!
