    Description

    You are looking at a very nice
    Meade ETX-70 Refractor Telescope that I saved from an estate sale. The unit is in clean and appears to be in very good shape.  I looked everywhere and could not find the hand-held controller so, as it is, this is a manually operated telescope (or, and I hate to say it, a good one for parts).
    I tested it with some light observations (the almost half moon on Aug 28th) and it appears to work just fine but I am not a telescope expert by any means. Although I could not test the motor feature without the handheld controller, the base on/off light did light up when I turned it on (it is powered by 6 standard "AA" size batteries (are not included). The battery compartment is clean and free of any battery acid leaks.
    It comes with 2 eyepieces; a 9mm and a 25MM - both in twist lock plastic cases (see last picture) as well as caps for the main lens and both the both the eye piece mounts (there is a mount for a camera and for use as a spotting scope). It has a nice built-in 2X Barlow feature.
    No other accessories and no tripod is included

    It is highly portable scope, weighing only about 6.5 pounds.
    It will be packed securely for shipping but I cannot lock down any lenses (not sure if it was even possible as a new scope)
