Product Description
The Meade ETX90 Observer Telescope is a powerful automated, portable telescope that featues a 90mm of aperture capable of close up views of the solar system. Its dual-purpose design includes a removable OTA and includes exceptional features like AudioStar, GOTO technology, and large 30,000 object database. The ETX90 Observer has a Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design for precise star images and exceptional contrast, making it capable of detailed solar system observations as well as fantastic views of deep sky objects like galaxies. The Ultra-High Transmission Coatings (UHTC) give maximum light transmission, ensuring the bright images and the highest contrast. It has a flip mirror included to let light focus to the rear of the telescope (instead of the mirror reflecting the light 90 degrees to the eyepiece). This feature allows a camera to be attached with adational adapters (sold seperately. allowing attachment of a camera on the back of the scope (adapters not included). The ETX90 Observer comes with a bubble Level/Compass to make sure your tripod and mount are level. This powerful telescope is a great way to view the night sky.
Newtonian Design
This is a Newtonian telescope, which means it has a secondary diagonal mirror near the primary mirror's focus to reflect the image at 90° angle to an eyepiece mounted on the side of the telescope, instead of the eyepiece being at the back of the telescope. This allows for more comfortable long term viewing and aiming.
