of July 2021 holiday, Kapp & Peterson has released a limited edition cutty celebrating the only Irish-American and Catholic to sign the Declaration of Independence: Charles Carroll of Carrollton. This is the first commemorative released in the Laudisi era, which began in 2018.
The 245 pipes, one for each year since the signing of the Declaration, were released at approximately 2pm Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday, June 24
th
. All 245 pipes were gone before noon the following day. This is #236, which corresponds to 2010. It features an extra-wide sterling band.
This piece was acquired for photography and documentation at the Peterson Pipe Notes blog in a post coming out for the holiday. It is new, unsmoked, with box and leather sock.
It is a small small-bowled pipe—please check out the measurements and other details—about the smallest in the K&P catalog.
