S.BANG (ULF NOLTENSMEIER) UNSMOKED STERLING SILVER AMBER BLAST HORN ESTATE PIPE

S. Bang pipes are special, they need no introduction. With news a couple years ago that Ulf Noltensmeier and Per Hansen have retired, unsurprisingly their pipes are being hoarded and are becoming more and more difficult to find. I just checked the major retail sites and there are simply none available! Here I offer a recent production piece by the great Ulf Noltensmeier that remains unsmoked. The Horn is a classic Danish shape which S. Bang has always done incredibly well. This gorgeous pipe offers a perfectly shaped bowl that cradles in hand with a stunning wide oval domed rim that was left smooth adding a lovely touch and opens to a generous chamber for its size. As the bowl tapers there is an excellent amount of bend which I look for in a Horn as I do not want my tobacco to fall onto my lap while lit! The thick oval shank continues the profile and is adorned with a thick Sterling Silver band struck "Bang 925 S". Saddle stem is hand-cut ebonite and Ulf's stem work is second to none providing comfort and perfect engineering. The finish is a beautiful rich amber while the blast is quite impressive showing deep uniform ring/cross grain on the flanks while the front is absolutely loaded in tight tiny birdseye craters with more to the rear. Awaiting it's first smoke and comes complete with gold lettering leather logo glove, a fantastic opportunity to pick up a very fine pipe from S. Bang that is not to be missed!
