The Sparkle Plenty doll was created in 1947 by Ideal. She is a character from the Dick Tracy comic strip and is the baby daughter of B.O. Plenty and Gravel Gertie. Sparkle Plenty was a hugely successful doll in part because of her long yellow hair that could be washed and combed, just like a real little girls hair. She was made through 1951 and came in sizes 14", 16", 18" and 20". I have patterns available for her in all of these sizes. Baby Coos was her little brother and was made during the same time frame and in the same sizes.
This pattern was originally created March 4, 1950. The copyright for this pattern has expired and it entered the public domain Jan 1, 1979.
