This unassuming, quaint old sealed pack of imported German cake mix came from the legendary Dione Lucas Store on East 51st Street, Manhattan and was possibly handled by Dione Lucas HERSELF! Lucas, now a famous woman from history, was an English Master Chef who was the first female to graduate from Le Cordon Bleu, and came to the States and was America’s first TV celebrity chef. In her later years she opened up her own cooking school and a store in Manhattan and this pack of cake mix was purchased from her store!

: Circa 1970 Oetker Cake Glaze Mix Sealed Pouch, at the time a German Import item and probably a special purchase at a store like Dione Lucas. 50+ YEARS OLD! NEVER OPENED! Approximately 4” x 2.75” The colors on this package are insane! NO FADING AT ALL! Has been in storage since it was purchased. WOW
STUNNING! BELONGS IN A MUSEUM OR IN A PERIOD MOVIE AS A PROP!
SEALED Cooking Mixes especially paper ones from this era are almost nonexistent. What are the odds and under what circumstances was this saved intact and not ripped open, or stained? Answer: it’s been in collector’s hands almost the entire time since it was bought! CLASSIC This example still has its ORIGINAL Cake Glaze powder inside. On the package it shows an American Cherry Pie, with that lovely jellied sugary layer softly blanketing the layer of freshly baked cherries. The variant is circa 1970 and is IN TACT like a time capsule, a true Pop Culture relic! AMERICAN FOOD ARCHAEOLOGY!!
