In the 1930s the country was in the midst of the great depression and morale was low. In 1934 a young girl named Shirley Temple had her first movie role. Audiences loved her and she starred in movie after movie all with happy endings, a much needed diversion from the difficult economic times. In the 1930s, the Ideal Toy Company started making composition Shirley Temple dolls. Again in the late 1950s they made Shirley Temple dolls, this time made from vinyl. The vinyl dolls were made in sizes: 12", 15", 17" & 19". I have a large assortment of patterns available for all of these sized dolls.
This pattern was originally created in October 8, 1958. The copyright for this pattern has expired and it entered the public domain Jan 1, 1987.
