This is a PHOTOCOPY of a Vintage 1930s pattern to make doll clothes for your Shirley Temple Doll. I have this pattern available in a variety of sizes, so please be sure that you are buying the right one. This auction is for the 25" tall doll. This pattern makes a version of the Heidi dress, blouse and hat or beret. The pattern also makes a sunsuit with hat, cape, nightgown and undies (not shown). The Heidi outfit is a dress with rick rack trim and bow in front, blouse with puffed sleeves and beret style hat. The blouse under the yellow dress has embroidered flowers on the sleeves. The sunsuit is adorable! It has a halter style top with an embroidered sailboat. The best part is that the halter "straps" can be made from white cord with the ends unraveled to make tassels - like rope on a boat, too cute. The cape is shown worn over the Heidi dress. It has a somewhat pointed hat and gathers at the shoulders. The nightgown has gathers where the bodice attaches to the skirt in front, puffed sleeves, rick rack trim and ties in the back. Also included but not shown is a combination undergarment. A combination is a slip and panties all in one with the panties attached underneath at the waist. I include a color printout of the front cover, a black and white copy of the instructions, back cover and the complete pattern. Please email me with any questions that you have.

In the 1930s the country was in the midst of the great depression and morale was low. In 1934 a young girl named Shirley Temple had her first movie role. Audiences loved her and she starred in movie after movie all with happy endings, a much needed diversion from the difficult economic times. The Ideal Toy Company started making Shirley Temple dolls to sell to her young fans. With each movie that Shirley made, a new outfit from the movie was made for sale. In addition, mothers and their daughters could purchase patterns to make clothing for their Shirley Temple dolls themselves. These patterns come from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, which just shows the lasting place Shirley Temple has in our hearts.
Due to Shirley's stardom, her dolls became an instant success and were made for many years in a large variety of sizes. Shirley Temple dolls were made in the following sizes: 11", 13", 16", 17", 18", 20", 22", 25", and 27". I have patterns available for most of these sizes.
