    Description

    For your consideration a piece that has been part of my collection for many many years.  A 2 piece new with tags including price tag still attached 1942 bathing suit.  Beautiful colors of aqua blue, fuchsia and gray.  The hang tag still hanging from the top says it is a knitted fabric (I believe nylon) and that tag is dated 1942.  The price tag from J.C. Penney is also attached to the top and states original price as .90.  Top is halter style with thin straps that tie around the neck.  It buttons in back with 2 large buttons.  The bottoms are so cute, high waisted, ruched in the front with elastic gathering in the back.  Both top and bottom are lined. Stated size is 34 and I'm going with that as it is a perfect fit to my size 34 mannequin. Waist measures 18 inches unstretched to 28 inches max stretch, hips measure 28 inches unstretched to 35 inches mas stretch. Length down the side seam is 11 inches. Crotch measures 4 inches across. When buttoned the top measures 34 3/4 inches at its fullest measurement across the bustline.
