A greater picture!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway; about an American ambulance driver and an English nurse falling in love in France during World War I) starring Helen Hayes, Gary Cooper, Adolphe Menjou, Jack La Rue, and Mary Philips. Note that in 1951, Warner Bros. updated the story to World War II, and did not pay for the rights, so the movie was called "A Force of Arms".
